Bachelor of Architecture from the nationally recognized University of Texas School of Architecture in Austin, Texas

While attending college, Walter worked with several architectural firms in the Austin area. Following graduation, he joined a large regional architectural firm in Atlanta, Georgia. He returned to his native home of Midland in the early 1980s & opened Pate Architects. Active in many civic endeavors, Walter is also a graduate of the "Leadership Midland" program.
Walter has extensive experience in Texas, Colorado & the southeastern United States for a variety of public & private project assignments, such as master site planning, commercial offices, retail developments, health care projects, churches, schools, industrial projects, detention facilities & recreational projects. He also has considerable experience with energy conservation including active & passive solar energy applications.
